Aujourd'hui nous allons faire des activités sur le thème des vacances.

Après des vacances de Pâques bien méritées et les semaines dédiées aux examens, nous voilà prêts à reprendre de plus bel!!!!

Tout d'abord souhaitons la bienvenue aux nouveaux arrivés: Roisin, Julie et Ben!!! Notre classe s'est beaucoup agrandit depuis la dernière fois!

1) Aujourd'hui, vous allez poster vos écrits dans vos Blogs respectifs. Le thème des écrits est "Bienvenue à l'office de tourisme de notre ville!!!"
Attention aux accents! Ne les oublie pas car ils sont très importants.

2) Une fois que tu as fini, tu peux faire les activités suivantes sur internet pour réviser les thèmes et les points de grammaire que nous avons étudié récemment.

La tradition de Paques

Pâques est une fête de l'Église catholique. Le jour de Pâques, il est obligatoire de chômer et d'assister à la messe. Pendant longtemps, Pâques était le jour de l'année où les fidèles allaient communier.
Dans les pays chrétiens, l'œuf de Pâques est le cadeau favori le jour de Pâques. Cette tradition d’offrir des œufs à Pâques remontrait à l'Antiquité. Déjà, les Egyptiens et les Romains offraient des oeufs peints au printemps car ils étaient le symbole de la vie et de la renaissance. Au IVe siècle, l’Eglise a interdit de manger des oeufs pendant le Carême et les oeufs pondus étaient décorés et offerts car on ne pouvait pas les manger. De nos jours, le jeûne n'est plus observé aussi strictement mais la tradition d'offrir des oeufs, y compris en chocolat, est restée pour le plaisir des petits comme des grands.

Here's a wee reminder of the homework for the holidays.

- Revise vocabulary up to page 5 as we will be moving on to the next section after the holidays. Remember that there is an Audio copy of the booklet available to download. In case you've forgotten how to access it, click on the 'MY BLOG' link.

- Also I would like you to write an answer in French to the following questions (about 60-100 words):

a. Quel est ton moyen de transport préféré? Pourquoi?
b. Quel moyen de transport aimes-tu le moins (the least)? Pourquoi?
c. Est-ce que tu aimes utiliser les transports en commun (public transport)? Lesquels (which ones)? Pourquoi?

I suggest you word-process your draft for 2 reasons. First it is quicker to make corrections (no need to write it all out again!) and also because we will eventually post those messages on the Blogs (so we'll just cut and paste them). For those who I have access to the Blog, I have also posted those questions onto your Blogs.

You can then save it onto your home computer or put it in your iPod or MP3 player. Listen to it at any time, for example on the bus on your way to school. A great way to work on your pronounciation!
